Sneaker Review: Robin Sneakers by Eaglery Philippines

Greetings Barbarians! Long days and pleasant nights!

It is no secret that I love shoes, and I have no shame in admitting it. Shoes are terrific, and they are essential in any wardrobe. They are the foundation of any outfit and could change the look of an entire attire by swapping out shoes. Shoes do not need to stand out and be the center of attention it just has to be practical and stylish.

A fresh white leather sneaker is a must-have in a man’s wardrobe. It is versatile – you could dress it down with jeans and dress it up with a pair of trousers. The problem with white leather sneakers is, they are damn expensive. A typical white sneaker from well-known brands could cost around $85 to $100.

But what if there is a sneaker out there that has a more competitive price with exceptional quality. Friends, I present to you the Robin sneakers by Eaglery Philippines!

Did I mention that it is handcrafted?

Ever since I resigned from my office job, I found myself looking for a pair of sneakers for everyday use. I need something durable yet still stylish.

I looks great on a pair of olive green chinos

I have been eyeballing a pair of Robins since 2019 but as we all know, 2020 happened. A lot of plans have taken a backseat. There is just no point in getting a fresh pair when you cannot get out of the house. Last December, I finally saved some money to at least buy myself something for Christmas. I figured a sneaker would be a fine choice since I need to catch up a lot this 2021. Let us make this clear; this is not a paid content. I bought this with the money I saved, and I have not received any payment in writing this. I repeat this is not a paid content.

Before anything else, I would like to thank my Patrons for making this post possible. I owe a lot to you, from sending my kid to school to paying our bills. My goal has always been to provide quality content. Your continued patronage allows me to write more satisfying content. Again, thank you so much for believing in me.

Another thing, given the COVID situation, a lot of local businesses are struggling. These are the modest local brands that do not have corporate financial backings. Much like you and me, they are doing their best to stay afloat. With your subscriptions, I could try out their products and highlight them here on the blog. I always dreamt of showcasing Filipino craftsmanship at its finest.

So, what is the fuzz around this pair of sneakers? As I have said, nothing can beat the price. For 1,995 pesos (approx $42), you get the same quality of well-known brands for half the price. I even got mine at a discount.

I love how comfy these are

When I first opened the box, I immediately noticed the stitched soles. Another thing I noticed was the suppleness of the leather. It is not as stiff as most leather sneakers are. They are not just durable, but they are also comfortable for everyday use.

That blue strip of rubber is the only design to it. If you love minimalist sneakers, this ones for you.

I love the simplistic design and construction. It has a pleasing silhouette that goes well with either jeans or chinos. It is not loud and over the top that it begs attention. It is a solid foundation for any casual or summer outfit. It is an instant hit for me, and I am glad I bought it. I highly recommend it!

See that glorious leather and those stiches?

  1. Cool! This is the first time I actually read a review about the brand. I follow them on IG, and they usually feature comments and DMs. I’ve been eyeing a few of their pieces, especially that they carry size 12 and 13 pairs. =))

  2. The workers in the Philippines are so cheap, the shoes are surly handcrafted. That means, not use any machine! They sew it by hand with a tool. Many times I let fix my shoes and it was always much better than before… 😎🙂
