What Happened in January (2022)

Greetings Barbarians! Long days and pleasant nights. It has been a promising January so far. Though it was a bit rough, it has been reassuring. I have to put other stuff in the backseat, but all in all, it was a fantastic month. It was, indeed, an ecstatic way to start 2022.

Of all the 12 months of the year, January holds a unique distinction from the rest. It is the month of beginnings and a celebration of the previous year. And in a few days, January is about to end. February is just around the corner, and I can already smell love in the air.

Before anything else, I would like to thank my patrons for making my posts possible. I cannot do this without your support. Creating content is not as easy as it seems. You need to plan and research your topic and spend an awful amount of time writing and editing.

With your help, I was able to keep on writing content for everyone to enjoy. So, thank you for that. I appreciate it – it means a lot.

Special thanks to:

For the first time in many years, I am excited about what the other months of 2022 will offer. January will leave me with a sense of hope and happiness in my heart. It made me feel significant. I am confident about the challenges the other months might bring.

Looking back, 2020 brought plenty of challenges I never thought would happen. On top of the pandemic situation, I was without a job on the brink of losing our house. I was so desperate that I decided to ask for help from other people despite failing.

What Happened in January

Things are brighter than I could ever hope for today. I may not have solved the housing problem yet, but at least I now have the means to move forward.

New Job

The third day of January marks my first day at my new job. I must say, this work is astounding! I am working as a technical writer in an IT firm. As you know, I was a programmer in my previous life. So, working again in IT is something I never expected now that I am a writer.

I get to learn from fantastic people and do good work. Plus, it pays exceptionally well compared to my previous jobs. So, I want to do an outstanding job in writing.

So far, I have written one technical document this January. I apply the same principles in most of my writing. As much as possible, I am making it as straightforward yet eloquent. So, I hope that I do an outstanding job translating the technicalities.

January Goals

I missed the numbers I am aiming for this blog. But, it did manage to outperform the previous month. On top of that, I also managed to reply to all the comments. So, in all, I am happy with this blog’s January performance.

I was also active on Patreon and my other social media platforms. Besides work, I wanted this blog to take off for some time now. So, I schedule my social media activities and post as much as possible.

Getting Sick

I got sick in the second week of January so, I had to quarantine myself for two weeks. And it was not only me, but my daughter got ill too. To my disappointment, I missed a week of work.

I am just glad that we are now out of it. It can be scary when children start getting sick. And to make things worse, there was a shortage of medicines in the Philippines.

Cure Aqua Gel

Someone gave me a bottle of Cure Aqua Gel last Christmas. I have been thinking of a skincare post for some time now. It might be a great time to write about that. So far, it is an excellent product. But, I will continue to test it this January. So, stay tuned to this.

As mentioned earlier in this post, January has been nothing but promising. With the way things are going right now, I cannot help but feel grateful for everything. Despite getting sick, it is a phenomenal kick-off to 2022.

So, that is it for today. I hope you enjoyed it. If you have comments and suggestions, write them down below. I would love to hear it.

Until next time, this is Mr. A, wishing you a wonderful weekend. Tune in again next week, same time and day!
