Now, back to our Round-up/TMI!
I have something in store for you guys today! Since I have been missing for some weeks now, I figure I could write this week’s TMI while doing my monthly round-up. I just hope I can catch up with you and somehow give you an idea of what I have been up to.
What Happened In November
November is quite a handful; it has lots of unexpected twists and turns. Most of them took me by surprise, while some of them still left me unsure of what it could bring. Regardless, I am still looking forward to the future. I hope that after all these troubles, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
As I told you earlier, my contract is about to end on December 10. I still have not decided if I should renew or if they are giving me any at all. I am now starting to hand out my resumes via LinkedIn.
As usual, despite how grueling the job is, I dedicate most of my time to my work. It is better than what I hoped for, and it kept the ball rolling. I manage to save some money, so I decided to expand my bookshop and began selling coffee. It is not much, but it is one step closer to my dream bookshop/coffee shop.
I also reignited my passion for cooking. All these problems with the pandemic and the house took their toll on my health. I was not sleeping enough, and I have not eaten well for almost a year now. A massive part of my diet consists of takeouts and processed food; I am feeling the effect.
So to make myself healthier, I started cooking for myself again if I had time. I made some Carbonara the other day that my kid seemed to enjoy. To my Italian friends, I have no intention of bastardizing your dish – I apologize for that. I can only get my hands on some bacon and canned parmesan cheese. I do wish to visit your country someday to finally taste what authentic pasta is all about. Until then, Ciao!
I am also making a conscious effort to cut down my caffeine and alcohol intake. Opting to drink more water, tea, and juice while limiting my soda and coffee. I still love coffee, so I drink at least a cup a day. I did try some chamomile tea to help me with my insomnia, and I am surprised by how effective it is. I would now add tea to my daily routine and grocery list.
Now, time for the biggest news of November. As you all know, I have had a tremendous financial crisis since last year. We have received a notice of eviction and are about to go homeless. The only way to keep our house is to buy it back from the bank.
It has been a heartbreaking and emotionally draining ordeal. Now, I am happy to tell you that we somehow have a breakthrough. It is still uncertain if we could pull it off, but at least, we now have a fighting chance. I hope everything will turn out well. So with every ounce of gratitude I have in my heart, thank you for your support. It means so much.
You have been my guiding light through this. Thank you.
Now, as promised, it is time for our TMI!
To whom would you love to sing a duet?
Not a duet, but I would love to play music with my daughter. Lately, she has been interested in music and spends time with me talking about music and bands. She even took note of the bands I am currently listening to and asked me if I could teach her how to play. It made me happy that I am thinking of saving some money for that black Les Paul I have been eyeing seven years ago.
Have you ever cried over a pet? What kind?
I have. I used to have two dogs: Grimm and Necro. And when they died, I was so heartbroken that I never took in other dogs after them. My heart still breaks whenever I think of them.
Do you think your personality needs polishing? Why?
Always! There is always something to improve in one’s personality and in life. If you do not lack something in your life, then there is no point in living anymore. As for me, I had severe trust issues, and I must learn that not everyone is out to get me.
What is the worst injury you’ve ever had?
I never had any serious or life-threatening injury. The worst I had was an overextended knee that I got when I was younger. It still hurts from time to time, but it is nothing serious.
If you had a clone, what part of your life or tasks would you have it do on your behalf?
I sound like a terrible dad for saying this, but if I had a clone, I would like some help on parenting. Being a solo dad, while it is fulfilling, can also be exhausting. Better yet, why not let the clone do the working while I raise the kid.
Bonus: Gifting supermarket flowers–good or bad?
I do not believe there is such a thing as bad gifts. As long as you mean it and you do your best, I do not see it as a bad thing. Trust me, I have given worse.
So there you have it. I hope you enjoyed this Round-up/TMI post. If you have any suggestions, please comment down below. I would love to hear about it. And, do not forget to hit the like button and subscribe to this blog. Share this post on social media while you are at it.
See you again next time.
