TMI Tuesday #134 (On The Road)

On The Road

Looks like Hedone from the TMI Tuesday Blog is still on the road! I admire the dedication they put into giving us weekly questions to answer. I hope they are having a great time! Cheers!

Before anything else, this week’s TMI is brought to you by my amazing Patrons. I could not do this without them. I hope they are in excellent condition themselves. I’d like to extend my special thanks to the following:

Now, back to our TMI!

You found bags of money in an empty storage room. It appears to be around $100,000 cash (USD). Do you:

  • Take the bags home, count the money, roll around in it, and daydream about how you will spend it
  • Get the hell out of the storage room, leaving the money behind.
  • Take a little money to pay some immediate bills, and maybe enough to cover one nagging debt.
  • Call someone whom you trust and ask for their advice on what to do.
  • Take the money to the police and explain how and where you found it.

Wow, $100,000 is a lot of money; that’s around 5,000,000php when you convert it here in the Philippines. I badly need the money, so I’ll take the bags home, but I’m not going to roll around in it. I’ll think of some way to make a profit and buy back our house.

Have you had your wallet stolen?

Nope, but I got money stolen from my wallet back when we used to live with relatives. Back then, we shared the house with four families, and I can’t tell you how miserable it was. There is plenty of stuff around the house that went missing.

My sister’s perfumes, my brother’s video games, my musical gear, they go missing, and we have our suspicions. But since we were still kids then, we never said anything. I find it disappointing now knowing my mom put a roof over their heads and sent the rest of them to school.

Have you ever been a victim of identity theft? What happened?

Yes! One reason why there is some animosity between me and my ex-wife is due to some events that took place. Her then-boyfriend pretended to be me in hopes of damaging my reputation. He called her workplace using my name and made ridiculous accusations about her. I guess their plan was to paint me as a disgruntled husband.

Good thing, their manager is smart enough to verify and ask me if I made any phone calls. We sorted the situation out, resulting in my ex-wife resigning from her work. I’m now in a much better relationship with her, but I will never forget the things that have been said and done. It was a very stressful time in my life.

How do you let loose?

I usually hit the gym or do Muay Thai or BJJ. I need some form of controlled violence in my life, or else I’d go insane. Maybe that’s why I’m so fond of angry and loud music.

Finish the sentence: People often say to me _____.

People would often tell me that I’m either strong or pessimistic. If I were to say something about myself, I’d say I’m a realist. I’m neither strong nor negative; I form an idea based on the data presented to me and its likelihood. I always try to side with both sides of the coin and be honest about myself.

Bonus: Do you have a lot to say?

I hope not. As a writer, I am expected to never run out of things to say but in reality, I keep myself to myself. I keep my mouth shut and speak only when I have to talk.

Well, that’s it for our TMI this week! I hope you enjoyed it! If you have anything to add, please comment down below. I’d love to hear all about it.
