Greeting Barbarians! Long days and pleasant nights. Smartwatches and fitness trackers have been around for quite some time now. Honestly, I’m not that fond of them. That changed when I tried out the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6.
I’d like to thank Theresaly520, Summerhill Lane, and the rest of my patrons for this opportunity. Also, special thanks to Von for lending me his Mi Smart Band 6 for this review. You guys rock! I can’t thank you enough for this opportunity.

When I pursued writing full-time, I was surprised how it relied so much on technology. As a writer, I spend most of my time researching my topics on the internet. After that, I spend even more time writing using the word processor of my choice. Then there’s the matter of promoting my work on social media.
I was talking to a friend a few weeks ago. I wanted this blog and my Patreon to work, so I’m asking him for some input. After some discussion, he suggested writing Mi Smart Band 6 and asked me to write about it. I’m rather adamant about writing reviews. But since I needed content, I decided to try it.
One of the challenges of being a writer is having a sedentary lifestyle. On top of that, the pandemic seemed to exacerbate the situation. I also haven’t improved my sleeping habits since working in the Vancouver timezone. My current routine isn’t what you can call healthy.
Mi Smart Band 6
The Mi Smart Band 6 is an affordable fitness tracker by Xiaomi. It costs around 1,999 pesos on Lazada, but don’t let the price tag fool you. The device may seem modest at first look, yet it boasts an impressive array of tools. It is a neat little device for monitoring your health and fitness that fits your budget.
The first thing you’ll notice is its sleek design. It weighs 12.8g, the device is not as bulky as other fitness trackers. On top of that, The Mi Smart Band 6 has exceptional readability even in a well-lit environment. It also has a high precision 6-axis sensor and a PPG heart rate sensor for all-day stress monitoring.
But of course, it has its limitations. With all its modes and features, it lacks any GPS capabilities, so it can’t track the distance when you run. It is somewhat understandable given the Mi Smart Band 6’s price point.
Another thing I find disappointing was the band, or at least, the locking mechanism. It can be tricky to fasten the strap tight enough, especially when you are on the move. Maybe it’s just me, but I have to stop whatever I’m doing to fasten the strap.
If you are looking for a much affordable fitness tracker, then none of its limitations matter. For its price, it is a solid and dependable fitness tracker that performs well. It offers a simple movement tracker and monitoring for a fraction of the cost.
Mi Smart Band 6: What I Love About It
For starters, I love how it tracks my sleeping patterns. I have problems sleeping; there are nights where I’m just wide awake. Knowing how much sleep I’m getting in a day makes a lot of difference. I can now make the necessary adjustments to get more sleep.
According to Mi Smart Band 6, I’m getting an average of 4 hours of sleep a day. It’s a good thing I clocked in 9 hours of sleep yesterday. It does not only tracks my sleeping patterns but also tracks the quality of my sleep.
Another thing I love about the Mi Smart Band 6 is that it can track my blood oxygen level. As someone who’s been having anxiety attacks lately, I often worry about not being able to breathe. I’m having shortness of breath when my severe anxieties kick in, so a SpO2 monitor can be handy.
If you are on a budget and looking for a basic fitness tracker, then the Xiaomi Mi Fit 6 is right for you. The display itself is enough reason for the price. It may not be an advanced fitness tracker, but it is efficient in monitoring movement. It notifies you whenever you’ve been sedentary for some time, making it an ideal choice if you are a writer like me.
To courage and freedom, and health!
