TMI Tuesday #121

Agree or Disagree with “Rainy days and Mondays always get me down.”

It is Karen, so I have to agree!

Before Taylor, Riri, and Britney, there was Karen and Debbie. God, I love Karen’s delightful and lovely voice. It is so tragic that we lost her. As for rainy days, there is always a fear of flooding during the rainy season here in the Philippines. I am always on alert whenever it is raining non-stop. The rainy season is near, and we are taking the necessary precautions. Good thing it did not rain much last year – the pandemic is already rough enough. Mondays are not that unpleasant; it is a chance to start anew.

What do you like to do on a rainy day?

If there is no imminent threat of flooding, I would like to stay in bed on a rainy day. I would stay cozy with a book and a cup of coffee. Rainy days would also mean that my birthday is getting near.

It rained last night, and in a few weeks, I would turn 35. My birthdays are more of a tranquil affair than an extravagant celebration. A fine piece of steak and a shot of whiskey, and I would be delighted.

What do you refuse to spend money on?

I refuse to spend money on hype. A fresh pair of Yeezy about to drop? I am not interested. There is a state-of-art phone in the market? My phone is still working fine, thank you. My favorite author published their latest book? I would wait for it to go on sale. I do not fear missing out. Unless something stood the test of time, I would not spend a peso on it.

If money and practicality were not a problem, what would be the most interesting way for you to get around town?

I would still choose walking, but with nicer clothes and much nicer shoes. If money is not a problem, I will get a car. But, I would still prefer to walk to get around town. Something is relaxing about taking a walk. I would get to see stuff that you could not notice when driving. I get to see the faces of people and their businesses.

What is the most frustrating product you own?

I do not think I have anything. If it is that frustrating, it is most likely in the trash now. If something stresses me out and it is not worth my time, I would discard it. I do not have the patience for that. The stuff you own should improve your life, not stress you out. You own the things you own, not the other way around.

Bonus: If you could hack into any one computer, which computer would you choose?

As someone with a background in programming, I would often joke about how it makes me “feel” safe. The truth about the internet is that no one is truly safe, but it should at least make you feel safe. Now to answer the question, the bank and erase all my house problems with a few strokes. But real hacking is not done by a few keystrokes. You need countless lines of code to do that.

  1. I love your thoughts against spending money on hype items! I am all about waiting too, especially if it is something I want, and get the double satisfaction knowing I got it at a good price. 🙂
