TMI Tuesday #112

For you, what would be the worst store to have a $1,000 gift card for?

$1,000 is a huge deal here in the Philippines, and I cannot think of the worst way to spend it. If I could find the worst store, I could get what the amount is worth and sell it for a profit. It would be splendid if I could spend it in a store I like, but beggars cannot be choosers. I am just glad I got a gift card.

Besides a raise or more vacation time, what is the best perk a company can offer you?

To be able to pursue personal projects, to both my career as a blogger and programmer. I have no problem writing or programming stuff that I am less passionate about; that is part of the job. Companies are paying to do what they ask you to do; whether you like it or not is up to you. With that, it would be wonderful if they could give employees spare time to pursue their passion. Something like programming an app that I always want to create or write a topic that I love. It is an exceptional idea to allow others to express their creativity. Who knows, that pet project might be the next big thing.

Before anything else, I am raffling off a writing course from Udemy when I reach my Patreon goal for March. It was one of the first investments I made when I was still a budding writer. It helped me become better at writing and made me aware of my audience. Please subscribe to my Patreon for a chance to join the raffle.

For as low as $1 a month, you get to access tons of bonus content and behind the scenes. You get the power to choose what you want to see here on the blog. For the same price as a pack of gum, you are making all the difference for us. Your patronage means so much to me!

Now, back to this week’s TMI!

What are you most likely very wrong about?

A lot of stuff. I learned in life that there are two types of truth, the natural and the perceived. Facts, such as up is up and down is down, are relatively simple. These are the truths present in the natural world; it is the perceived truth that can be quite tricky. Like everybody else, I am trying to figure it out. Sometimes I am wrong, and sometimes I am right, and there were days that I lose hope. I wish I could give you a more direct answer, but that is all I can tell you. I am a man who, much like everyone else, is figuring out his place in this world. I am wrong as much as I am right in a lot of situations.

What is something you borrowed but never gave back?

I try to return things that I borrowed as much as I could.

Some, not all Filipinos are known to borrow money but have a troublesome time returning it. It is one of the prominent toxic Filipino traits. An example of this was the cousin who borrowed a hefty sum from my mother and forgot about it.

But, I am not claiming to be a saint. Despite my efforts, I also have my shortcomings. One, in particular, is the barong that I wore to my best friend’s wedding. I accidentally forgot to return it after the wedding.

Bonus: What have you struggled with your entire life?

Money, how to make tons and tons of money!

Special thanks to my patrons, namely:
