TMI Tuesday #91

Would you help pay for your own engagement ring?

I’m answering this from a guy’s perspective. Would I accept help in paying for the engagement ring? My pride says no but my savings says yes only if she offers it. I’ve been married before and my wedding ring is a joint effort between me and my ex. We were young and just starting. She was pregnant and had to quit her job because they don’t have maternity privileges. I know it’s a shitty business practice, so I told her to fuck it and I’ll support her with my 15k/month salary. I was young and so arrogant back then. But how can I let my wife back then continue working in a place that doesn’t support pregnant women?

Were you ever afraid to masturbate?

I can’t think of any reason to be afraid. The mind and consciousness are complex, I can’t seem to take this question without pondering about it. Maybe yeah, if you’re jacking off to something unlawful and abusive, then maybe you should be afraid. But so far, most of my fantasies revolve around taste. While yes, some are an acquired taste but I can’t say that any of it is illegal or abusive.

These days what gives you the most comfort?

Comfort is a luxury these days, the last month was tough and the coming months will be tougher. My fundraiser lost its momentum, and my daughter’s schooling is so demanding. I hate to sound like I’m complaining but this setup ain’t doing solo parents any favor much more for a solo parent on a financial crisis. We’re about to lose our house and I’m working on any job that I could find. The only comfort I could find these days is in the company of my friends and family, especially my daughter.

Speaking of which, I don’t know what to say anymore. The fundraiser is at a standstill and this rate, we are going to get thrown out the streets. We’re doing everything we can but there is no way we could get that much money in a short amount of time. I know it’s tough and I’m not asking for much. If you can’t help us financially then maybe you could promote this and bring it to the attention of those who could. I hate doing this, I hate asking everyone I know for some help like I’m some kind of worthless person. I hate coming to friends whom I haven’t talked to in a while for help as if I’m only talking to them because I needed something. I hated it, I don’t like it one bit, but the alternative is worse.

If you want to help, here is the link to my fundraiser. I moved it to make it more accessible and easy for everyone.

If you can’t assist financially for now, please help me in promoting it. Help me pick up the momentum, ask your friends, or share it on social media. Help me augment our campaign.

If you are skeptical about donating, there are other ways.

You could subscribe to my Patreon page and get access to exclusive content you can’t get anywhere else. Take part in Q&A and polls, and you get to decide what content you want me to make. Make requests and get included in the credits section of my post. If you are not convinced, maybe this testimonial would help you change your mind.

I’ve been reading Mr. A’s blog for over a year now.

I enjoy reading all of his posts, whether they’re light-hearted topics like how to color match your outfits and how to do yoga (barbarian style!), to more intimate entries where he shares personal thoughts on life, love, being a parent, and everything in between. Being a fellow creative, I admire his zest for life, despite how challenging life can be sometimes (as it can be for all of us) – and how he translates this into words and experiences that others can relate to and learn from. If you’d like to read genuine, heartfelt content that speaks to you as a person – not just another random passer-by on the internet, then I highly recommend subscribing to his Patreon, where you can get exclusive content and make requests, which I think he’d be happy to oblige where possible – I actually asked him to teach me Tagalog! (Lessons are fun and he’s extremely helpful)

People with strong work ethics are difficult to come by these days, and I don’t think I’ve met another blogger/writer who pours as much dedication and passion into his work than Mr. A. If you can get a coffee from a nice cafe 2-3 times a week, then being a Patreon for the price of a latte is a small price to pay to support a single father’s dreams of providing for his family. I hope you never stop writing, Mr. A! All the best.

Please check out my Patreon page for more details.

You could also offer me extra work. I started a gig on Fiverr as proofreader and editor, and I’m planning to add more gigs along the way. If you got any suggestions for the kind of extra work you need, please let me know in the comment section. Please check out my Fiverr gig for more details.

What is distinct about you?

If you are one of those few who I have the pleasure of chatting with, you would know that I’m very easy and outgoing. Despite facing a crisis, you would still find me smiling and making jokes. I guess it is my way of keeping my composure. As I said, I hate sending messages to people asking for help. While there are a few who praised my efforts, there are those who looked down and dismissed me as if we didn’t matter. Sometimes the only thing I could do is smile.

Bonus: What in the past week has given you immense joy?

This list…

Earlier today, I received a care package from a local business here in the Philippines. The package contains a 500gram bag of their dark roasted coffee beans for me to try out and a Huawei Nova 2i. I posted something on my personal account about my phone that needs to be replaced soon. The owner of the shop caught the drift of it and was kind enough to donate her old phone. So, shoutout to Serendipity Shop’s Coffee Beans and Grounds! The coffee is smooth, dark and it tastes great! I love it!

Please check out Serendipity Shop for their great-tasting coffee beans!

    1. Hi Nita, thank you for your concern.

Yes, Paypal is the only option. But the is an option inside Paypal which you could pay via credit/debit card without registering.

I hope this helps. I appreciate it. Thank you so much.
