10 Things Mr. A Can’t Live Without

Greetings Barbarians! Long days and pleasant nights!

Who enjoys Youtube here? I’m guessing a lot and I can’t blame you. Youtube has been a great source of learning and entertainment for me. One of my favorite series is GQ’s 10 Essentials: The Things Our Favorite People Can’t Live Without. It is a series where personalities like Jo Koy and Tyson Fury list their 10 everyday essentials.

Despite the promotional context of the series, I find myself enjoying it. Like a reasonable modern man that we are, we acknowledge the bad stuff yet focus on the good stuff. There is always something nice about knowing other people. What sort of fragrances they like, what kind of books they read, and so on. I enjoyed it so much that it inspired me to list down 10 of my favorite daily essentials.

Before we proceed to the 10 things I can’t live without, please like and subscribe to this blog. Better yet, why not sponsor the blog? Here are the 10 things I can’t live without. Mind that almost everything here is given to me as gifts that is why they are my favorite. A patron asked me about what gifts I enjoyed during our Q&A session last April. I love all sorts of gifts as long as given with good intentions. I love practical things that are lovely and special.

I can’t imagine life without the modern cell phone, especially with our current situation. I connect with family and friends and market the blog on various social media platforms. I take pictures and a lot of other stuff. What I don’t do with my phone is play games with it or at least, not anymore. I’m using a Sony Xperia XA which I don’t have a picture of because I’m using it to take pictures! When it comes to phones, I’m not into the latest expensive models. As long as it gets the job done then it’s fine by me.

Ah, here is my workhorse, I’m using an Asus X series. If you’re aspiring to be great at blogging you’ve gotta embrace the laptop lifestyle. That means you’re in front of a screen most of the time, researching, writing, promoting your stuff. It is tedious work, so please check out my Patreon page!

I can’t imagine life without a watch. There is nothing like a good watch to remind you that your time here on Earth is limited. Despite always having my phone in my hand, I always rely on a watch to tell time. This one is from Guess, not the expensive watch but it was a gift from my dad. I have had this for more than a decade now.

With the age of digital wallets, cryptocurrencies, and credit cards, cash is still in style. Nothing screams financial maturity than a great stylish leather wallet. This was another fantastic gift from an ex-lover and has my name engraved to it.

Another thing I don’t leave home without is a pen. For me, life is all about preparation and anticipation. As a blogger, there is nothing more frustrating than having a great idea, only to forget about it. I always carry a pen and a piece of paper so I could write down ideas and musings. Of my many pens, this one is my favorite. It is a Pilot Metropolitan given to me by Pancake.

The same thing with pens, I always keep a notebook or a notepad around. This one is another gift from Pancake. It is a leather-bound notebook that also has my initials engraved in it. I love having my name in things.

I can’t imagine life without books, I don’t even have to say anything about it. This is my copy of Coelho’s The Alchemist. It is enlightening, life-changing, and so far, my favorite book of all time.

My second is Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby and third is World War Z by Max Brooks. My good friend from work, Carla gave me this copy.

Another one of my favorite things in the world, shoes. It is one of the things I never skimp on. It has to be of quality, comfort, and style, I would work my ass off over a great pair of shoes. This one is the first quality pair of shoes I’ve ever bought. It is a brown penny loafer, ideal for dressing up in a tropical climate of the Philippines. It is handcrafted from top-grain quality leather with leather soles.

Great underwear is life-changing. It’s comfy, soft, protects your junk well and not to mention stylish. You’ll never know when you’ll have to strip in public and it pays to wear nice underwear.

I love sunglasses!!! This one is more of a whim, but I can’t live without a great pair of sunglasses. If the sun is up and I have to go out, I make sure I carry a pair of sunglasses. It is more practical than you think. It protects your eyes from the sunlight, dust, etc while keeping you looking cool.

Honorable Mention: Baby Wipes

I never go out without baby wipes, they have a myriad of use and they are cheap. As a father, it could sometimes get messy and baby wipes are great for cleaning up. Need to freshen up a bit? Baby wipes got you covered. Got a smudge on your fresh white sneakers? Wipe it down with baby wipes. It’s a no brainer when you think about its uses over its cost.

So there you have it, the 10 things I cannot live without. I hope you had a great time reading it! Do you have your list of 10 things you cannot live without? Comment down below, I would love to hear all about it.

  1. I concur with your list. I even keep wipes in the car -always. I usually buy face wipes instead of baby ones. They usually smell better, and some don’t have all the preservatives.
