Greetings Barbarians! Long days and pleasant nights!

I never saw myself as cool, neat, awesome or anything that connotes being great. To be honest, it’s quite the opposite, I will always feel lame and boring. I will always be an outcast and I will always be outside looking in, I will never be enough. However, if there is one thing about me is that I will always try, and aim for the stars regardless of the outcome. 

With that said, I am grateful for receiving this Real Neat Blog Award nomination. It has been quite a while since I’ve done a nomination by my blogging peers. So, thank you for this wonderful opportunity, I can’t express my gratitude enough. You guys hold a special place in my heart.

I would like to give a very special thanks to Theresaly from Culture Shocks for nominating me. This will serve as my first nomination for the Real Neat Blog awards and hopefully not the last. To Theresaly, thank you for giving me this opportunity. You have always been a great friend on both the blogging world and beyond. I hope we can catch up later, I already miss our afternoon/evening talks! You could check out Theresaly’s wonderful content here. 

So, what is the Real Neat Blog Award? I can’t seem to find its origins (help me out in the comment section) but it’s pretty much like the Sunshine Blogger award. You get nominated, you answer their questions, nominate others and ask them questions, you get the idea.

Now for the fun part, I get to answer some of Theresaly’s questions with great enthusiasm. I hope I won’t dissapoint.

Here are Theresaly’s Questions:

What kind of music are you listening currently to calm or motivate yourself from the “outside noise & news”?

As of writing this, I’m listening to 36 Crazyfists’ A Snow Capped Romance album. Yesterday, I was listening to Slipknot’s Iowa album and Killswitch Engage’s Alive or Just Breathing album. I love noise, I love metal from various spectrums, from Brutal Death Metal to Metalcore. Polarizing as it may sound, I also listen to Taylor Swift, The Chainsmokers and Miley Cyrus. I also listen to a lot of quirky tunes like Postmodern Jukebox and Epic Rap Battles. I tend to listen to stuff that is no longer receiving radio airplay. 

What has been your greatest achievement this past year?

Hmmm… can’t think of any. Unemployment sucks and the year has been a struggle. I take what I can and tend to it. I sure did make a lot of friends and get to experience a lot of pleasant memories. However, I’m still getting off my feet and trying to rebuild, still chasing glory and a dream as far as I know. 

What kind of skills do you want to develop in the months ahead?

With the COVID-19 happening, a lot of my plans have been put on hold in favor of other things. Aside from the usual things I’ve been working on, I do want to learn more about basic first aid and survival. I’ve always wanted to learn those before this happened and now it makes more sense. As for blogging, I wanted to improve my writing even more and make better content. I also wanted to learn photography as well as creating graphics. Blogging seems to be the only door opening for me right now, so we’ll see how it goes. 

What on-screen villain is most intriguing to you?

It’s no secret I’m a Batman fanboy, and being a Batman fanboy also means I’m a Joker fanboy. Batman and the Joker are both sides of the same coin, well, extreme sides. Batman works in the shadows while the Joker loves being in the spotlight. The other one is calculated while the other one does not need a reason to wreak havoc. Each one trying to stop one another yet each one cannot end the other one. Both are the antithesis of the other one.

Do you have an outfit that makes you feel great about yourself, seems to boost your confidence, or makes you feel invincible? 😉

Let’s start from the shoes, hand-crafted, top grain leather and leather soles of course. Then a navy or gray trousers or chino pants depending on the weather. A light-colored dress shirt, white, pink, yellow, or light blue, depending on the trouser. A gray sports jacket or if I’m feeling a bit daring, I will throw in a waistcoat, all tailored to perfection. And oh, I also look great naked so, there’s that. 

Was there ever a movie or documentary that inspired you to take action or made you want to learn more about the background story?

Cinderella Man, starring Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger. It’s one of my favorite films, and one I could deeply relate to. It was a sports biopic of world heavyweight boxing champion James J. Braddock. As a down on his luck, single father chasing a dream while trying his best to meet both ends, I can’t help but relate to the struggles shown in the films. This was one of the rare films that bought tears to my eyes.

What kind of activities do you and your best friend do together? Do you have a favorite funny memory that you share?

I haven’t caught up with friends lately and I do miss them. I’m aware that everyone is busy with everything that’s been happening in their lives. I do wish I could catch up with them, I miss our dinners or drinking sessions. My fondest memory would be the get together we had a few days after my resignation. They bought me a cake that says “We love you, Boss!” and it was one of the best things other people gave me in life. Though later on, a few falling out happened, everything was okay and I couldn’t ask for anything else at that moment.
