TMI Tuesday #71

Nice to meet you, where you been?

I could show you incredible things

Taylor Swift, Blank Space

Anyone know what this is?

I got no idea and I’m too lazy to do a reverse image search. Is it something for your eyelashes? Ladies, mind helping me out, I would be deligthed?

Who are you really?

Quite an existential question we got here. So who am I really? I’m a 33 yr old Filipino male, trying to figure out life a day at a time much like everybody else. I am a father to a wonderful daughter, separated. I’m a programmer by trade, pragmatic and logical, and currently trying to make a living by writing. I’m outgoing and calm on the outside but serious and quiet on the inside. I don’t believe in authenticity but rather in “self-made” and I’d rather not dwell on the past but think of the present.

Are you better at starting or destroying relationships? Why do you think this?

I’m good at both and to quote TS (Taylor Swift) “Got a long list of ex-lovers, they’d tell you I’m insane”. But make no mistake, I’m committed to any relationships and would do everything I could to make it work. It takes two to tango in a relationship, and it doesn’t matter how much you try to make it work if the other party is unwilling. I choose people who choose me. I’m charming so go figure.

What is the biggest doubt you have?

I have great doubt about people’s perceptions and expectations. I have great confidence in myself and everything that I have power over but none in the way how people see. A good example of this is the result of my recent job interview. I didn’t get the job despite my skills and experience. It looks like I made a mistake or two on the practical exams. I don’t want to sound desperate despite the reality that I am there’s just no way to change people’s mind, all one can do is to influence them. Confidence is the ability to be okay (or in my case, be charming) even when things don’t go your way.

Tell us the name of 3 best programs (TV, movie) that you have watched since being side-lined due to coronavirus lock-downs, quarantines, etc.

I watched Brightburn last night, in case you weren’t familiar, it is a “what if” Superman story. Being a nerd that I am, I would give my time to any comic book related movie on Netflix. It is a “what if Superman was a villain” horror story and I absolutely love it! I was excited about it when it first came out despite my friends sleeping on it. They weren’t even aware that it is a Superman story in the first place.

Other stuff I’ve watched is Gotham (a huge fan of the Batman – Catwoman relationship) and Jon Favreau’s Chef Show.

What product do you think the world could do without?

I got no idea, but it definitely won’t be paper or any paper products. The world is a better place with paper in it.

If you died today, how would you be remembered?

I’ve written about this in the past. I wanted my child to remember me as a father who guided her and took her hand when she needed it. I wanted my parents to remember me as a man who did his best to live his life. I wanted my women, current, and past, to remember me as a man who loved with his whole heart. And you, my friends, I would like to know in the comments how you remember me if this was my last post?

  2. An ancient detangler…a tool used in chemistry classes to pick up noodle shaped poisonous substances😜 Thoughtful post! Perception of others is quite difficult to get past. I hope you are well Mr. A. It’s been a while since our last chat.
