Discover your Purpose

Greetings Barbarians! Long days and pleasant nights!

Quick question, what is your purpose in life? Since that we all got one shot in life, what do you intend to get from it? Just like what Mr. Morningstar always asks, “What is it that you truly desire?”. I would like to hear all about it in the comments. 

I spend my young adulthood never knowing what I want in life. I pick a career because I’m good but never had the heart for it, and the same could be said about my relationships. I’m never interested in anything, hence never desired nor driven. I spent my days drifting until I drift away beyond reach. 

But before we proceed, I’d like to first thank you for the opportunity to write for another day. This is becoming my favorite part of my write-ups. A chance to acknowledge you, the greatest person I had the pleasure of crossing paths with. So, thank you for the support and for giving me the chance to say my piece. This blog wouldn’t even exist without you!

A man’s entire being is his purpose. A man’s purpose drives his actions and thoughts. Even something as mundane as his style or his diet is the manifestation of his purpose. For a man to live his life with coherence and integrity, he must align his life to his purpose. 

It’s no secret that the key to success is discipline. If you know your deepest purpose or desire in life then you can structure your life to follow your purpose. Hence, if you have no idea what your purpose is then how can you structure your life towards it? Everything you do will come off as confused and dissociated. Everything will be just a moment connected to another moment. You will become weak and empty that it will impede your ability to penetrate the world and your woman. 

A man who knows his purpose is a man who is fulfilled. He does not seek fulfillment in things like career or relationships. Rather, he takes these opportunities to give his undivided gifts. For him, his purpose fills his every moment.

  1. love that Nietzsche quote, the why is so important, its what we hold on to when life is at its most difficult. my purpose? I think it has changed over the years much like everyone else’s I suppose, as we have kids the focus moves away from ourselves to them, and my purpose includes them. Thank you for sharing your writing, it is one of the highlights of blogging for me. Be blessed.

      Yes, our purpose do shift from time to time. I guess the most important thing is to know you have a purpose.

  8. I don’t believe in the necessity of a Purpose Driven Life. Yes, I read the book. 😉 For many years my life was spent in service to others and living the life they said gave me purpose. I took care of my mom, I worked with seriously mentally ill adults, I did volunteer work, blah blah blah. All of these things are good. They are not my purpose. I have one simple purpose in life… to be HAPPY!!! If something in my life doesn’t bring me happiness and joy, I take that out of my life. I also don’t believe we have only one life. 😉 That’s another conversation.

  10. Hi, Mr. A, I agree fully with what you say about purpose. I’ve been coming back into awareness of my purpose in recent days, though I am not quite able to articulate what it is in specific terms. But for me, living without purpose was like wandering through a miasma of chaos and never finding anything worthwhile. Never again! Cheers my friend! 🍹

  11. Its been a while since i follow you here and i am loving every post you share. Having said that i believe this is your best element. All you needed to do is find a way to make your best element work for you.
    We may drifted away when we were young but maturity and age and parenthood will lead us all the way back to where we were suppose to be.

      As for purpose, I was undecided was I was younger and no that I’m in my 30’s a lot just seems to make sense. Purpose no matter how selfish it may seem, gives meaning in everything we do.

  12. I was always searching for my purpose when I was a young woman, or ‘my niche’ as someone once said. I was driven to find my purpose, light pleasures were not enough, neither was financial security. Now I’ve found it, it gives me pleasure, and therefore I’m pretty much happy. This woman has her purpose, and is supported in that by the man she loves. The man she loves has no purpose, which sometimes aggrieves me. But he would say I am his purpose…and the tale goes on. Thanks for this post, which seems to have prompted a very cryptic sounding reply from me, cryptic but true. Here’s me loving the Nietzsche quote too!

      I’m glad to know that you have finally found your purpose! Especially these days, I think it is a gift if one finds their purpose. A lot of people today go on life not knowing what they want.
